I had a magical stay in Tokyo last weekend. Partly because the DBS show at Unit was so special and partly because there was a total eclipse of the sun passing over Tokyo on Monday at 07:32.
Sunday started well with a boat trip in Tokyo harbour. Well a party really, with Jay from UMAA DJing. and there were lots of wigs available. This is Utah Jazz and me looking very smart indeed.
naturally Ultraman was on the boat as well.
Monday morning i was picked up at 05:00 by Kamba and Fumie who run DBS (Drum & Bass Sessions) in Tokyo. they gave me a pair of eclipse glasses. love the bloke on the left in this picture who clearly forgot to wear his.
We stopped at a convenience store, bought beer and dried squid snacks, got to Peace Island, set up our stall by the sea and waited.
and waited
and then we saw it
and after the eclipse faded we headed for a 90 minute Onsen session followed by the best pork Ramen in Tokyo at HOPE
AND THEN WE WENT TOY SHOPPING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But yeah, each episode is 1 hour and 30 minutes, so it’s basically 6 films. With cliffhangers. So, I guess that’s where the fandom came out of?! Everyone tears their hair out and mourns together.
Right, ok in the film sense it makes sense, but it was just surprising to me because the Clerks Animated Series is 6 episodes long lol and I doubt that would could have a fandom as big as Sherlock. Idk it’s just weird since they put Dr. Who and Sherlock like in the same category and I would think, there would be more to talk about with Sherlock if it was longer, etc.
Just found out the BBC Sherlock seasons are only 3 episodes long.
How the fuck did a fandom come out of that?!
do you ever draw something a million times above your usual skill level and it’s just like
where the fuck did that come from
Cheer up, you’re never alone! There is probably at least 1 bug in your room
